McLaren wrap up Jerez test

British superstar Lewis Hamilton, 23, drove the team's new MP4-23 for a second day and was the fastest of the two drivers present with a best lap of 1:19.691 set late in the morning.

His new Finnish team-mate Heikki Kovalainen (pictured) spent a third day in the car and was a tenth of a second slower than Hamilton's pace, with his best lap also coming late in the morning.

He completed 93 laps to Hamilton's 86 with the pair focusing on establishing a base set-up for the car.

The team will remain in Spain over the weekend to analyse the data they have gathered before spending three more days at the same track next week.
