TORINO KEEP EUROPEAN HOPES ALIVE WITH RUTHLESS WIN
A smash-and-grab raid by Torino kept their faint European hopes alive for next season as they outfought an AC Milan side who verged on bored at times and ran out 3-1 winners in their final home game of the season.
Milan knew before kick-off that they’re guaranteed to finish second, and they played like it. Apart from a brief spell after conceding a third, Stefano Pioli’s side lacked any dynamism in their attacks against an opponent still playing for a prize more than pride.
Goals from Duvan Zapata, Ivan Ilic and Ricardo Rodriguez mean Il Toro overtake Napoli and will qualifying for continental football next season if they can stay in ninth and both Atalanta and Fiorentina win their upcoming European finals - a tall order but by no means impossible
Rodriguez’s rocket straight from kick-off in the second-half capped a deserved win for Ivan Juric as he prepares to depart for pastures new in the summer, and with Pioli potentially vacating the San Siro, the Croatian certainly finished the happier of the two managers.
The free-flowing game was certainly a departure from miserly Torino’s usual style but they remained compact at the back before twice exploiting lax defending by Fikayo Tomori and Malick Thiaw before Rodriguez sealed the win.
FULL-TIME: TORINO 3-1 AC MILAN
Ricci picked up a booking for a textbook professional foul on Reinjders, capping one of many outstanding performances from the Torino side. It only would've stopped a consolation though, Milan have been comprehensively outplayed tonight.
FOUR TO GO
And it was almost four for Torino! Linetty bombed forward and latched onto a brilliant lifted ball in behind. Sanabria was begging for the ball on an absolute tap-in but Linetty went for glory, and found Row Z.
HAD TO SCORE!
That was a gilt-edged chance for Rafael Leao! He'd zigged into the penalty area on a seemingly unstoppable run from the flank, but as is so often the case with the Portuguese forward, time on a shot was his enemy.
He glided into an open channel but struck his shot straight at the keeper, to the chagrin of Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the directors' box.
SEEING OUT THE CLOCK
Those substitutions have understandably broken up the flow of the game, which suits Torino just fine. Zapata again sparked a counter but Vojvoda had two options and picked neither, it surely won't matter though.
GIROUD CLOSE!
He's instilled a fear in the home defence since entering the fray and Giroud has his first sight of goal there. It needed to be a special header from the edge of the box and it very nearly was, but Milinkovic-Savic could gratefully watch it dip over his crossbar.
FAREWELL?
Another who could be waving goodbye to the home Torino support, the highly-rated young centre-back Alessandro Buongiorno is a victim of cramp.

TOMORI BOOKED
It's been a pretty poor showing for the England hopeful, and immediately after inheriting the captaincy from Bennacer, Tomori sees yellow.

GOALSCORER OFF
Giroud is targeted straight away in the final third and he truly looks as sharp as ever in his Milan swansong. It's Bennacer off, after his niggle from Linetty earlier.

TORINO DOUBLE-CHANGE
Pellegri's more than pulled his weight too with a hand in both goals, but now he makes way.

BELLANOVA MAKES WAY
He's a candidate for Player of the Match and rightly takes the crowd's applause - potentially for the final time at home with Raoul Bellanova linked with a move to a bigger club in the summer - and Valentino Lazaro will patrol the wing for the rest of the game.

GIROUD INTRODUCTION?
Linetty's been needling Milan all night but definitely crossed the line there, leaving his knee in as he shoves Bennacer to the floor. Somehow he's still not been booked though, while Milan's top scorer Olivier Giroud continues to warm up. When will Pioli deploy the 37-year-old?
VIDEO: MILAN DEFENCE EXPOSED AGAIN FOR TORINO SECOND
After than flurry of activity, we've reverted to the first-half stalemate somewhat - so it's a good time to show how Ilic doubled his side's lead...
WHO'S WHO?
Are we sure Milan are the Serie A runners-up and Torino are the mid-table team? Il Toro are hungry for more and Bellanova continues to shine on the right flank by winning another corner against Terracciano, that's the full-back's last action.

VIDEO: ZAPATA HEADS TORINO AHEAD
This was the header that got the Torino party started, as the home fans continue to lift their team at 3-1.

It's a first change for Milan, and it's the predictable one too.

AND BREATHE
Sportiello's heart must've been in his mouth as he fumbled an arcing Zapata header out for another corner. However, Milan survive and soon create a chance at the other end, that Jovic overhead kicks over the bar. Rodriguez has picked up a limp though after his stunning strike.

TORINO REBUILD
They've certainly been rattled really since their own third goal, but Torino are attempting to calm things now. Bellanova finds space on the right and though Filippo Terracciano executed a textbook tackle from behind, they'll keep the pressure on with a corner...
