Ekdal thinks he's got away with the foul, but to no avail and the referee pulls it back.

Cagliari get the game back underway, immediately get the ball forward, but don't have enough numbrs forward.

That's the last action of the half and barring that last 10 minutes it was preety forgettable. Hopefully better in the second half.

Pinilla wins the foul and Cagliari again flight it in. A shot from a ludicrous distance from Ekdal on the half volley - all of 40 yards - and Handanovic has to tip over.

That was brilliant from both, the first real piece of quality in the match and what a save it was.

Pinilla gets his head on a long ball and hits a fantastic volley as the ball drops miles. It's looping towrads the top corner and Handanovic has to pull off a world class save.

Cagliari on top now and they're firing long ball into the box...

Fernandes commits the foul and Cagliari finally swing it in. It's well defended though and Armero is eventually fouled.

Torje hares up the right and dinks a lovely cross to the back post. Fernandes is there to meet it and it's a terrible header. Terrible!

Cristian Battocchio is warming up, but it's hard to see which Udinese player is injured at the minute.

Torje gets the ball caught under his feet, but he maintains possession and floats a good ball out to Armero, who heads on for Flores to chase, but there's a bit too much on it.

Quick thinking from Armero as he takes the throw quickly into Flores, who briefly looks to be in, but he's crowded out.

Flores is penalised for handball and it's a shame because Abdi hits a wonderful pass straight afterwards.

Benatia concedes the throw and is the pounding rain Agostini miscontrols a routine pass and it goes straight out.

Fernandes has a chance to shoot when the ball is layed off for him, he completely miss hits and behind him Pazienza is there, but his daisy cutter's straight at Agazzi.

There's manic scrapping for the ball on the halfway line and Udinese eventually come out on top.

Gelson Fernandes wins the ball, plays through to Flores, and his is a woeful shot high and wide over the bar.

Armero like a cheetah down the middle, but the pass through to him has too much on it from Flores and once again Agazzi is comfortable.

Cagliari are right back at them though and again it's Thiago making all the moves. He picks up the ball wide on the edge of the area, but his cross this time is poor.

Thiago charges up the right touchline, wins his side a throw, but it just allows Udinese a chance to break...

Cagliari's front two combine really nicely, Thiago with more fanstastic control. Again Udinese's weight of numbers prove too much though.
