Enigmatic AC Milan are desperate for a win over Genoa in the first of tonight's Serie A doubleheader.

There's the final whistle, Milan close out the win and for now they go fourth.

Genoa bomb forward and Sculli smacks over a hanging cross but Dainelli is fouling Abate, who clears anyway.

A Genoa attack breaks down and Milan counter, Robinho on the left but he can't find Pirlo. Ibra has it though and wins a free kick on the right wing. Clever from Ibra.

Robinho leads a counter and looks inside to Ibra, who holds it up for Robinho, who slides it back to Flamini on the left and he cuts back inside Ranocchia and surely but he blasts it over!

Milan, obviously, take the free kick short and slow. Antonini loses the ball but wins a throw.

Sculli is booked for a frustrated chop on Robinho.

Ibra wins a free kick on the left wing. Milan have everyone bar him - including the newly-defensive Robinho - behind the ball.

Milan need to be careful - Kharja is allowed to ghost in behind Silva and get a free header but the angle and weight of the ball lead him to knock it across goal, with Toni behind the play.

Nice skill from Ibra on the left as Milan look to wind down the clock with possession football.

Milan counter and Flamini is in, he has Ibra to the left with only Eduardo to beat but he shoots instead and smacks it wide! Should have passed.

Milan must get a second as Seedorf arrives in acres of space on the left but Eduardo keeps out the low finish! Robinho must score but it hits a defender on the line and Eduardo gathers!

Ibra does his second thing of the game in winning a free-kick on halfway.

This is a promising spell for Genoa but Milan look a lot more wily at the back with Nesta around.

Sculli with a ball in that Toni flies to meet but he is adjudged to have fouled Nesta.
