The hosts are trying to force it now, and who can blame them? Biondini plays a pass that’s never on and as a result Caceres clears. Vidal picks up the pieces and moves the ball forward, sending the ball out to the left into space with Giaccherini making ground. Consigli looks like he wants to come and then thinks better of it, but closes down the angle enough to force the Juve man into a snap shot that fizzes wide.

Again, good high pressing from Atalanta, who force Juve all the way back to Storari. With no options out wide for the goalkeeper he opts to send the ball up field.

Giaccherini covers well down the left. He stands up Cigarini, showing the midfielder out wide. The Atalanta man attempts a nutmeg but gets his feet caught up and loses possession in a promising position.

Poor play from substitute Vidal. His side counter and have men over but the youngster ignores the options and lets fly from 25 yards, dragging his effort wide.

Shaky moment for Marrone as Storari’s pass is hit short. Denis busts a gut to beat the defender to the ball but is inches short. The defender does well to clear.

The Bianconeri are attempting to just keep the ball and see this game out. They’re playing the ball around their own half, shifting it from left to right and then back again.

The Nerazzurri are really pressing deep now. They’re not giving Juve a second on the ball. They may well get an equaliser here, but with the men they are committing forward they could just as easily concede a second.

Replays show that Marrone simply stuck out a hand and deflected the ball away to safety. That definitely should have been a penalty.

Juve got right up the other end and nearly score. The Atalanta players are too busy chasing the referee pleading for the penalty as Vidal strikes the legs of Consigli with a shot from 10 yards.

The hosts are screaming for a handball in the Juventus penalty area. It certainly appeared to hit the hand of Marrone but the referee instantly waves play on.

Atalanta make their third and final change of the night as Del Grosso makes way. Parra is the man to come on.

The visitors are awarded a free kick on the left touchline for a foul on Giaccherini but Pirlo’s set piece is a poor on and is cleared by the first defender.

Anelka drives forward and beats two Nerazzurri shirts before playing a lazy pass out wide that is cut out. It looked to be a promising chance before that...

Juve make another change as Peluso is brought on in place of De Ceglie.

Cigarini commits a ‘team foul’ as his side looked to attack and then lost the ball, allowing their opposition to swarm their half. The midfielder simply tugged the shirt of Anelka and is shown a yellow card.

Strange scenes on the touchlines as Sebastian Giovinco appeared to take off his tracksuit and ready himself for an appearance. Moments later he’s putting his training gear back on and taking a seat in the dugout.

It is the Nerazzuri that now look the most threatening. They attack in number and are forcing the visitors to defend on the edge of their penalty area. The pressure subsides, however, as Biondini’s effort from distances spirals high and wide.

Cigarini rises highest in the Juventus penalty area to meet Carmona’s whipped corner. The floppy-haired midfielder can’t direct his effort on goal, though, and the ball flies over the bar.
