City aren't threatening much, but Chelsea are struggling to get the ball. Perhaps they need to just get it into Abraham and then see what happens.

Mahrez collects a stray pass on the stretch and quickly moves from right to centre, falling into a low curler which isn't far wide.

Mahrez slides a pass ahead of De Bruyne, who swivels into a quick, low cross, but can't find a man.

City knock it about some more.

I wonder what, if anything, Chelsea have changed. Perhaps Kante will play deeper to protect the defence, because if the flow stays as it was, they could lose by another couple from here.

Chelsea started really well and earned their lead. But just as City were warming, a deflection handed them an equaliser and it's been one-way traffic ever since, give or take. I'm not sure what Chelsea do about this, because they don't have the midfield to change the flow nor the defence to strong-stand.

Mendy fires into Silva who opens a foot to send the ball back out left, where Sterling screeches after it. He catches up and knocks back, but then Silva, expecting a run into space, slides in behind to no one.

Oh! Kepa loses concentration and bungles a clearance to Aguero who does the keeper with his eyes and lamps a shot that cannons the bar! Silva then tries to work an angle for Mahrez, but his first touch is heavy and the chance goes. Chelsea need half-time.

City are much the better team now, and what's this? Silva crosses, Aguero gets ahead of Tomori and the first touch on the ball before falling down ... no penalty says the ref, and no penalty says VAR. Both will be elated to learn that I concur.

Willian flies down the right and crosses low towards the near post, but Fernandinho gets in front of Abraham.

Manchester City 2-1 Chelsea (Mahrez) Mahrez runs at Emerson then nips inside him just like Emerson must've known he was going to do and just as Kovacic arrives on the scene - too late to bring him down because he's now in the box, whereupon he smacks a low shot through Tomori's legs and into the far corner. Chelsea just don't have a defence good enough to absorb pressure, and now trail though City haven't yet got going.

Mahrez slides a ball back to De Bruyne, on the right edge of the box, and again he moves inside onto his left then unleashes a rasping curler that flies not far over the top.

Tumeric Laporte has bleached his hair blonde, like we're back in good ole 1994. But how on earth will he fill the hours tomorrow?

Willian scuttles through the middle but with so many options loses himself in the supermarket, eventually playing a simple one for Emerson outside him; his cross is larruped well beyond the back post.

City are passing with a bit more pace now, Chelsea sitting off them. I'm not sure they've got the defence to pull that off, and sure enough De Bruyne picks a pass into Aguero, but Zouma does just enough to block his shooting angle.
