Mauricio Pochettino: "We have to make sure we analyse the tactical situations, all the football side, but we need to improve our mentality as a team, to be more strong in all aspects. I tell that to the players, like I do the media. I have to give the tools for us to play better - this is on my shoulders."

Steve Bruce: "It's always disappointing to have a result like we had (the defeat at Burnley). We've set ourselves certain standards over the last couple of years and against Burnley we have to admit we were woefully short. Whether you are a player, a coach or a manager, you need to respond to it so we have an opportunity in front of the nation to put that right. It will be difficult against a really, really good Spurs side but the one thing we have to do is produce a performance that you hope on the day will get you a result."

Erik ‘Rabona’ Lamela is recalled to the Spurs side in place of Andros Townsend. Eric Dier replaces the suspended Kyle Naughton at right back.

Hull City boss Steve Bruce is not a happy chap. He makes five changes from the miserable defeat to Burnley as Andrew Robertson, Michael Dawson (who faces his former club), Gaston Ramirez, Hatem Ben Arfa and Nikica Jelavic are all promoted to the starting XI. It’s a pretty tasty Hull team actually.
