One change for Reading as Alex McCarthy replaces Adam Federici in goal as the latter misses out on the matchday squad through injury.

Reading have only played two matches since returning to the top flight, a 1-1 draw at home to Stoke on the opening day and 4-2 loss at Chelsea where they led for more than 40 minutes. Their game at Sunderland was called off due to inclement weather.
