Walker flicks on the corner, now Vertonghen attacks but Jagielka is close to him and Howard claims easily.

Dembele, Adebayor and Lennon combine on the edge of the box, Lennon winning a corner from the right. Dembele pulling the strings.

Vertonghen joins Lennon and Walker over this... Touched to him by Lennon and the Belgian drives a ferocious, swerving effort that Howard tips over!

Dempsey is down with a bit of a knock after Gibson fouled him in that incident.

Dempsey has a run and a shot from distance, which is blocked, but he was caught. Free-kick.

Another Spurs corner as Gallas's effort takes a deflection off Naismith to go well wide.

Spurs laying camp on the edge of the box now but they're probing calmly and patiently until a Sandro shot takes a huge deflection, going well wide with Howard stranded.

Fellaini with a ball wide to Pienaar, he feed JELAVIC but Gallas flies out to block his finish!

BIG MISS NAISMITH! The wall blocked Baines's effort, it dropped back to the England left-back who took it on the chest and drilled a low shot through the bodies in the box, Naismith reacting but putting wide from close range!

Gibson, Baines and Pienaar are over it. This would suit a right-footer but Baines is the better direct free-kick taker of the three...
46'
Osman with a good touch but Sandro tugs his shirt and trips him, free-kick 25 yards out, a touch to the left...

The second half is underway. Shame that Mirallas is off - he was looking pretty exciting.

EVERTON SUB: A half-time change as Naismith replaces Mirallas, who must be feeling the pain of a thigh injury that had ruled him out for four matches.

@incakolanews: "I know Fellaini is playing as 1) you mentioned him on the txt & 2) the haircut in corner of eye. Apart from that...errr..." - true, he has had a quiet game but if he explodes into life later, don't say I didn't warn you...

Half-time stats: Everton moved back into contention later in the half and were on just under 49% possession, 10 efforts on goal to Spurs' five although none of Everton's were on target. I would, however, count Lloris's save at Jelavic's feet as the best chance.

What did you make of that half? Any revised predictions? Should Everton have had a penalty? Let me know on Twitter @Reda_Eurosport.

Half-time and it's goalless - some home fans boo, aimed at the ref one assumes, but he was correct not to give a penalty there.

Fellaini almost meets the corner but once more Caulker intervenes! That was not a penalty on Gallas, by the way - he had his arms by his side and back to goal when Pienaar struck. Good decision by the ref.

Again Everton demand a penalty as the ball skips up into Gallas's midriff! Now Mirallas on a mazy run but his left-foot shot is blocked by Caulker! And now Caulker with a vital interception as Osman fired into the bottom right! That was goalbound!

Shout for handball in the box as Dempsey clears following a Vertonghen defensive interception. Replay shows it hit his chest but an arm movement - to present the chest - made it look like a handball from some angles.
