N'Zogbia drives in a low shot from distance - routine save for Fabianski.
8'
Rosicky wide for Diaby, he looks to feed in Eboue, but the Ivorian didn't read Diaby's thoughts, and the through ball runs straight to Al-Habsi. Rosicky has clearly taken over the mantle of Fabregas this evening, pulling the strings in midfield.
7'
Gohouri hits a real Hollywood ball for N'Zogbia right across the field to the far corner flag - and the former Newcastle man might just make this - indeed he does, though he bundles Eboue over as soon as he gets to the ball, and Arsenal have a free-kick.

Well, chances aplenty in the opening five minutes. If today’s game has anything like the drama of last season’s corresponding fixture, then we’re in for a cracker. Arsenal were 2-0 up with just over 10 minutes to play, but Wigan came back to win 3-2.

Rosicky spreads a glorious ball wide for Arshavin on the left flank, he closes in on goal...but volleys just over with Caldwell coming steaming across to make the challenge.

Rodallega dispossesses Squillaci, who wants a free-kick but won't get it...just Koscielny to beat for Rodallega now...but the Frenchman stands tall and makes a fine challenge!

Good pressure from Rodallega to dispossess Koscielny, it falls for Cleverley on the left, he crosses for Rodallega who has got clear of Koscielny...BUT IS INCHES AWAY FROM CONNECTING WITH A HEADER FROM POINT BLANK RANGE!!! What a start from Wigan!
2'
N'Zogbia shows a good turn of pace to beat his man down the left flank, though there's nobody up with him to get onto the end of his inviting ball across goal.

Diame and Rodallega get the first half underway!
19:45
A chilly evening here in Lancashire - just a couple of degrees above zero. A good crowd here at the DW Stadium, though there are still a few empty seats about the place. The players are now out on the pitch, and we're almost ready to go.
19:40
A win today for Wigan would likely see them rise to 15th, while Arsenal will go above Manchester City into second should they win, and if they win by five or more goals then they'll go top.
19:35
So Arsene Wenger has really rung the changes following his side's 3-1 win over Chelsea. Cesc Fabregas misses out through suspension, though there are no fewer than eight changes in total to the starting line-up. As for Wigan, Hendry Thomas returns to the side following suspension, so McArthur drops to the bench.
