Captain Ledley King is still ruled out, but Younes Kaboul has returned from a hamstring problem to partner William Gallas int he heart of the defence at the expense of Sebastien Bassong. Wilson Palacios also comes in for Tom Huddlestone.

With Leon Osman out with an ankle injury, Russian Diniyar Bilyaletdinov comes into the starting line-up for Everton. But the big loss for the Toffees is the absence of Mikel Arteta. The influential playmaker misses out through injury.
