Indeed, this is one way traffic at the moment. Kroos and Modric are controlling things in the centre of the pitch, spraying the passes around. Levante are making it very easy for them.

Does that Ramos goal effectively give Real Madrid all three points, even at this early stage of the match? Levante don't score many. They're averaging less than a goal a game.

This has been a good start by Real Madrid. They are using that opening goal as something to build on, not sitting back. They want to pull off an emphatic victory here.

That's only Ramos' second goal of the season. The centre back is usually good for about 10 goals a season, but he hasn't been anywhere near that mark of late. A welcome return to the scoresheet.

Despite an improvement in the standard of recent performances, Zidane is still under pressure as Real Madrid manager. There are reports that Real are lining up a replacement.

Of course, while many of Real Madrid's rivals were involved in the Copa del Rey semi finals during the week, they were sat at home. They suffered a shock defeat to Leganes in the quarters.

The hosts are doing a good job at the moment of keeping Real Madrid at arm's length. They are even enjoying some of their own possession in the final third of the pitch.

The BBC are starting up front for Real Madrid this evening. The champions have missed the influence of both Bale and Benzema this season, especially the former. Bale gives them something different.

Levante don't have a good record against Real Madrid, but then they should look at how Leganes went to the Bernabeu a couple weeks ago and won. A precedent is there to follow.

Real Madrid have been in slightly better form of late, but you get the feeling that the champions left it too late to catch Barcelona at the top of La Liga. They trail by a giant 19 points.
