WHAT A BLOCK! A cross from Modric falls kindly to Ronaldo about six yards out, but Doukoure does well to throw himself in front of the shot from the number seven to make the block.

It seems like Real Madrid have made a deliberate decision to test Oier with more shots on goal, not waiting for the perfect shooting opportunity. This goalkeeper looks rather nervous.

Levante are showing more attacking intent at the start of this second half. That might actually work for Real Madrid, though. It could mean they have more space in behind to exploit.

GOOD DISGUISE! Ronaldo shaped for the shot from a freekick 30 yards out, but he instead clipped a cross into the box for his teammates to get on the end of. They were all offside, though.

Boateng needs to watch himself. The Levante midfielder is on thin ice. He's already been shown a booking and he has a habit of leading with his elbow in the challenge.

DEFLECTED WIDE! It was only a three-man wall from the home side, but it was enough to divert the freekick strike from Ronaldo wide of the near post. Oier was left relieved.

The thing about Levante is that they don't tend to score many goals, so the fact that they have found the net at all is rather surprising. But they look focused on the task this evening.

While Real Madrid have dominated the possession of the ball, they need to do more with it in the final third of the pitch. The likes of Bale and Benzema have been pretty quiet.

So the first half didn't end as Real Madrid had planned it. The away side had been the better team for the most part, but Levante made the most of some slack defending to equalise.

HALF TIME: Levante 1-1 Real Madrid. The Spanish and European champions will feel aggrieved to be level at the break, but Levante took their opportunity when it came to them.

It was Ramos who was caught out as Morales sprung the Real Madrid offside trap to get in behind. The finish from Boateng was exceptional. He actually had a lot to do to guide it home.

Well, that was unexpected. Real Madrid have been by far the better of the two teams in this first half, but their defensive line was cut open there. They allowed two clear chances!

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Levante 1 (42 mins -Emmanuel Boateng) Real Madrid 1. Against the run of play, Levante have equalised! Navas comes off his line to make the save from Morales, but Boateng was quick on to the rebound and did well to guide a low shot into the bottom corner of the net.

Real Madrid have had plenty of possession and have worked their way into a number of dangerous positions, but it must be said that they haven't really created that many scoring chances.

Lerma appeared to trod on the in-step of Kroos, but the Levante player avoids a booking. There have been a few of those from the home side in this first half so far.
