HALF TIME: Celta Vigo 0-0 Atletico Madrid. The Liga champions get to the break having played an extremely poor opening 45 minutes. This system hasn't worked and Simeone needs to change it.

One minute of stoppage time to be played at the end of the first half.

I'll be interested to see if Simeone makes another change at the break. He could put on Cani for either Mandzukic or Torres. There's just too much space between midfield and attack.

What is quite unlike Atletico Madrid is that they are largely standing off Celta Vigo when they have the ball. The home side are being allowed to pass it around almost at will. Strange.

Celta Vigo know that they need to make the most of this dominance before half time. Atletico Madrid will emerge after the break stronger, so the home side need to make a breakthrough soon.

I can't even remember Mandzukic having a touch of the ball. Torres hasn't done much more either, with Griezmann struggling to get involved in the match too. This isn't working for Atletico.

And still Celta Vigo are the better team at the moment. The change hasn't altered Atletico Madrid's shape and the home side are imposing themselves much better on the contest.

Simeone still looks restless on the touchline. There just seems to be very little in the way of attacking options. Neither of the full-backs have gone bombing forward, which is unusual for them.

The big regret for the home side will be that they haven't been able to find the breakthrough in this first half. This has provided a microcosm of their entire season to date.

Apart from anything else, Suarez isn't really a player who will help Atletico Madrid keep the ball in the centre of the pitch. He'll help them win it there, but he's no pass-master, that's for sure.

I can only assume that Tiago hs picked up an injury. He has been struggling with a back strain recently, so it might be down to that. Suarez won't really change Atletico Madrid's shape.

Shooting opportunity for Cabral! The Celta Vigo defender is up from the back as the home side attack, but his shot on goal is scuffed and Moya can make the save with ease.

Indeed, it looks like Simeone is about to make a change just 30 minutes into this game. This system just isn't working for Atletico Madrid. They look unbalanced and are lacking in midfield.

Atletico Madrid are the best defensive side in La Liga. They are used to playing with their backs to the wall, but they don't look in control of this game. Their marking has been slack so far.

The problem for Atletico Madrid at the moment is that they're not holding on to the ball when they have it in the centre of the pitch. Gabi and Tiago are being bypassed by Celta Vigo.

Good play from Orellana. The Celta Vigo attacker gets to the byline down the right side and tries to fire into the six yard box, but Moya is off his line to gather the ball under pressure.
