That's what you call a tactical foul by Mascherano, who brought down El Zhar pretty cynically as Levante went on the counter attack. Barca were short in numbers at the back so a yellow card was a small price to pay.

Barcelona are struggling to pick a pass through the final third, which is very unusual for them. Levante are doing really well in pressing them on the ball and they're right on top of Messi whenever he gets it.

Messi tries to jink past Lopez but the fullback stills to his task and makes a solid challenge, taking all of the ball. Not often you see that, especially in a one-on-one situation.

Caparros is pacing the touchline and looking a bit nervous. I suppose you're always nervous if you're team's playing Barcelona but with 30 minutes gone he must be pleased with how things have gone.

Levante are playing a very high line and it's working at the moment, with Pedro caught offside yet again, but you just wonder how long until Barcelona crack it. Very high risk against this team.

Messi has been a little withdrawn so far tonight for Barcelona. He hasn't been on the ball as much as he normally is and he's appearing to get a bit frustrated by that.

El Zhar, who has been very lively up front for the home side, evades a few Barca tackles and tries to get a cross into the box where Garcia is waiting but it's headed away by Pique.

This is actually a very open game at the moment. You expected Barcelona to take a stranglehold of the contest and the ball after finding the equaliser but Levante are very much in this.

Fabregas plays a nice pass forward but Pedro doesn't keep his line and is called offside. He needed to bend his run there!

Barcelona's pressing looks to be a little off tonight. When Levante have the ball they actually have time to pick a pass and dictate the tempo of the game. Not often you see that from a team playing Barca.

Now Levante are enjoying a good spell of possession. They've been relatively impressive in these opening 20 minutes or so.

Barcelona are starting to take full control of this game but credit to Levante, they're not giving up. Not a bit of it.

Here's a statistic for you. Levante have only lost three times this season after going ahead first. Get the feeling that might become four tonight.

Well that was a very similar goal to the Levante goal, with Pique unmarked inside the six yard box to head home from a corner. That's the defender's first league goal in 11 months. Timely.

And now Barcelona come forward on the counter attack, with Pedro shooting after cutting inside onto his right foot. But the effort is weak and Navas saves with ease.

The ball is swung into the box by Lopez but Barcelona are stronger for this set piece, but when the ball drops to the edge of the penalty area Diop blasts over the bar.

Lopez goes down under the challenge of Alba and the home side have a freekick in a good position on the left wing.

Well that goal has certainly livened up this game. Barcelona look a little bit annoyed, understandably and they're coming forward in droves.

Barcelona stream forward once again and this time Messi picks up the ball inside the box but his shot is blocked by Juanfran. There were claims of a handball there but the referee waves them away.
