You just get the feeling that Barcelona are starting to turn the screw a little bit. They're enjoying a lot of the ball.

I didn't quite see who the defender was, but whoever it was certainly stuck out a leg when Sanchez danced through the challenges but he went down far too easily and simulated contact where there was none.

Sanchez goes down under the challenge of a Levante defender but the referee waves away hisw claim for a spot kick. It looked to be a dive to me.

Fabregas picks out Sanchez with a wonderful diagonal ball over the top of the Levante defence but the Chilean forward's touch lets him down and Navas comes off his line to smother the eventual shot.

Apparently Messi lost four KGs in the time he was out injured. I didn't even know he had four KGs to lose!

The Levante offside trap holds firm again with Alba this time offside. However replays show tht the Barcelona left back was actually onside. Poor decision.

So can Levante keep up the level they were playing at before the break or will Barcelona's superior quality start to tell in this second half?

The second has started between Levante and Barcelona!

That was a very entetaining half of football. Levante have given as good as they've got and have been more than a match for Barcelona over the 45 minutes. Of course you'd still expect the Spanish champions to turn the screw after the break but they have a game on their hands!

HALF TIME: Levante 1-1 Barcelona

I suppose a big triumph for Levante in this first half has been how quiet they've kept Messi, who has seen very little of the ball and when he has seen it he's not done very much with it.

And now Levante come forward. I don't really want this first half to end! It's been great fun.

The away team flood forward with Xavi dictating the play from the edge of the box, but when he tries to chip a pass to Sanchez at the back post Junafran clears in unorthodox fashion. It was effective though!

Barcelona are starting to crank up the pressure before the break. Can they find the lead before half time? You wouldn't bet against them.

Messi tries to curl a freekick towards goal from the best part of 35 yards but his effort flashes past the post with Navas covering the near post. That was a bit too far out for Messi's style of freekick.

Fabregas winds up the shot from 18 yards but the pass back to him from Pedro is a little loose and allows Juanfran to make the pre-emptive block.

Levante have to be praised for the way they have played after conceding the equaliser. They could have crumbled quite easily but they're putting up a strong fight and Barcelona are struggling to pick them apart.

This has turned into a very entertaining game and Levante are certainly playing their part.

Good chance for Barcelona after Pedro surged forward down the right and played the ball into Messi. The number 10 is tackled by Juanfran only for the ball to fall nicely to Xavi on the edge of the box, but he drags his shot wide of the target.

That's what you call a tactical foul by Mascherano, who brought down El Zhar pretty cynically as Levante went on the counter attack. Barca were short in numbers at the back so a yellow card was a small price to pay.
