Sporting coming more and more into this game. Early on, but the play is swinging from end to end.

Sangoy floats in a corner for Sporting before Castro's cross is cut out. Good tackle by San Jose on Sangoy as the visitors break up the home attack.

Fine effort by Sangoy, but a good, agile stop from Iraizoz in the Bilbao goal from the home player's five-yard volley.

Aurtenetxe tries to get on the end of San Jose's long ball, but that has too much pace on it. The ball drops out.

Botia brings down Caseras as Bilbao continue on the attack.

Decent start by the visitors. Gabilondo again involved. Fine cross, but a good take by Juan Pablo in the home goal.

Martinez wins a free-kick for the visitors. Gabilondo swings that balls in, but Gijon have enough bodies in the box to deal with that.

Good movement again by Martinez, but he is just offside on that occasion.

Martinez in behind the home defence, but his cross flashes across goal. No takers. Was an early chance for Athletic.

Sporting Gijon were thumped 4-0 by Atletico on the opening day of the season, but recovered last week with a 2-0 win over Mallorca.

Bilbao midfielder Javi Martinez is seeking a second win of the season for the visiting side. "Despite the defeat against Atletico, we can take some positives from that match although, obviously, there are a lot of things we can improve on," he says.
