Jurgen Klopp (on Sturridge's fitness): "Of course, in this moment, he cannot play three games in a week. Nobody should do this too often. If you have a normal pre-season, if you have a normal period of time training, then you are ready for this. It is a little hamstring [problem], nothing more, but we have to try together with him to make him more resistant. It is no knee, no hip, no foot but this is a sign that it was too much for him. Now we have 10 days, I would say, until we think about if he should play: that would be the Watford game maybe."

FAMILIAR FACE: Sion left-back Reto Ziegler spent one full season in England with Tottenham Hotspur FC and also played on loan at Wigan Athletic FC. He figured in three matches against Liverpool: two draws with Tottenham and a 1-0 loss with Wigan. He scored in a penalty shoot-out for the north Londoners against the Reds and also registered his only league goal for Spurs versus Liverpool's neighbours Everton FC.

IN GOOD COMPANY: Sion were the first visiting team to score three times in a European fixture at Anfield when they were beaten 6-3 by Roy Evans's Reds in the now defunct Cup Winners' Cup back in 1996-97. Only Barcelona (1-3, 2001), Chelsea (1-3, 2009), Udinese (2-3, 2012) and Real Madrid (0-3, 2014) have done so since.

Sion are not in great form having secured just one win in seven matches, losing their last three on the bounce. They went down 1-0 at FC Zurich at the weekend. Liverpool also come into this on the back of a defeat as a four-match winning streak was ended with a 2-0 reversal at Newcastle. It was Klopp's first away defeat as Liverpool manager.

DID YOU KNOW? Liverpool are one of only SIX teams unbeaten in the Europa League group stage this season - Napoli, Lazio, Besiktas, Schalke and Sparta Prague complete the list.

HEAD-TO-HEAD: Liverpool have won two and drawn one of their three meetings with the Swiss outfit. This year, their previous encounter was on matchday two at Anfield. Adam Lallana's early opener was cancelled out by Ebenezer Assifuah in what was Brendan Rdogers's final European match in charge of the Reds.

STAT: Liverpool's 13 outings against Swiss sides have ended W6 D5 L2 (W3 D1 L2 in Switzerland).

Liverpool's record under Klopp: Played 12 W7 D3 L2 F21 A10. The Merseysiders have secured four shut outs in those 12 matches.

Liverpool are the only unbeaten side in Group B after five matches, with a tally of nine points. Sion are second on eight with Rubin Kazan on five and Bordeaux at the bottom with three. If Kazan win in Bordeaux, then Sion will need at least a point against Jurgen Klopp's Reds to confirm their passage into the knockout stage as the Russians have the better record in the head-to-head.

Jurgen Klopp has named quite a strong line-up for Liverpool. The Reds are already qualified but the manager seems intent on finishing at the summit of the group and bouncing straight back from that surprise defeat at Newcastle United on Sunday.

Jordan Henderson returns to captain Liverpool as he makes his first start since August 17 following a lengthy spell on the sidelines. Philippe Coutinho is also back from his hamstring problem and is on the bench. Divock Origi leads the line while there are also places in the starting XI for young left back, Brad Smith (full debut) and Kolo Toure.
