Shotton puts an Alba ball from the left out for another corner. 8-5 Valencia in corners, showing the contrast between the two halves as far as attacking intent is concerned.

The hosts work the corner short until Parejo's deep cross from the right goes out for a goal kick.

Huth puts out an Adruiz cut-back for a corner.

Jones headers a cross from the left, but can't get enough on it. Rami is down hurt as it appears in the build up, Jerome came in and caught the prone defender, who now sports a nice gash on his knee.

Soldado is booked for a free-kick conceded just inside his own half, which is whipped into the danger zone but cleared before the second ball goes out harmlessly for a goal kick.

Jerome's cross from the right is cut out by the sliding interception of Dealbert as Stoke finally get the ball into the final third of the home side.

Bruno tees up Feghouli, who misses the target with a header by some distance.

Cleared as far as Pablo, whose shot is closed down.

Valencia win their sixth corner and now have had more than Stoke for the first time in the game. More importantly, they're using attack as a strong defence to see out this tie.

Pablo will take this one, not Parejo, and he tries to place a lobbed effort at goal... but it's inches over the bar.

The free-kick goes out for a goal kick, but soonafter Valencia have a far more dangerous opportunity as Woodgate brings down Feghouli on what must've been about as much on the edge of the box without actually being inside it as possible. On the line stuff. Free-kick, not a penalty.

Half-clearance of the corner and Shotton brings down Rami on the left wing to become the fifth Stoke player to enter the book.

What a woeful free-kick attempt that was. It was Delap's error actually, apologies. Woodgate was the intended recipient of the defensive free-kick though he should never have been.

Woodgate error! Soldado is through! Sorensen makes himself big and saves! Stoke clear!

Pennant slips on the second try, a more traditional cross attempt, and it goes out for a goal kick. Jones and Dealbert are exchanging words following a to-do during all of that, and both are given a yellow.

Pennant's shot at goal hits the top of the wall, but Fuller holds the rebound up out on the left just on the edge of the box until he draws the foul. He tries a short ball up to Delap in a more central position, but the referee pulls it back as he rules it was taken too soon.

Feghouli shoves Pennant in the back rather needlessly, and Stoke have a free-kick 20 yards out, left of centre.

Alba and Shotton go great guns fighting for the ball out on Valencia's left wing, before the right-back wins the free-kick when Alba is ruled to have used a little too much arm in the battle.
