Slovakia v Romania live - Euro 2024 latest as both sides qualify from Group E

Slovakia and Romania secured their place in the Round of 16 at Euro 2024 with a 1-1 draw in Group C.

For the first time ever all sides in the group were level on points heading into the final game.

Slovakia looked dangerous from the off and took the lead after a perfect cross from Peter Pekarik found Ondrej Duda who headed home unchallenged.

Just before half-time, Romania were awarded a controversial penalty after a VAR check and Razvan Marin smashed it into the top corner.

Both teams started to ease off towards the end knowing that a point would be enough to see them through to the knockout stages.

The referee blows for full-time and the point for both teams is enough to take them through to the Round of 16.

Romania top the group whilst Slovakia will progress as one of the best third-placed sides.

Despite many expecting a boring game, we weren't short of drama here in Frankfurt.

An injury to Dubravka late on means there will be a minimum of three added minutes at the end here.
