LOOSE PASS FROM TROSSARD
So Mangala lunges in on Haraslin, introducing studs to metatarsus and receiving a yellow card for his trouble.

BELGIUM ARE STRUGGLING TO GET ANYTHING GOING
The goal knocked them back, and already I wonder if the passing of Youri Tielemans might give them a bit of composure in midfield.

WE'VE SEEN THIS A BIT ALREADY
And we're seeing it again now: a team with good individuals are struggling against a team with a good plan and good cohesion.

DOKU GETS AWAY FROM HANCKO
Who gets back at him, doing enough to halt the attack.
23'
PEKARIK AGAIN GETS DOWN THE RIGHT
And he cuts back, but Bozenik's shot is blocked at source. Still, though, Slovakia aren't just sitting on their lead - they look threatening.

SLOVAKIA ARE DEFENDING WELL
While Belgium are hoping De Bruyne or Doku sort something out. There's not much rhythm to their passing.

DUBRAVKA COMES OUT, STRETCHES A LEG INTO AN INEPT CLEARANCE
And the ball breaks to Trossard, to tries an instalob ... which sails over the top. On target and that's a goal.

SLOVAKIA WIN A CORNER DOWN THE RIGHT
And Faes is up early, stretching neck and head to send the ball away.

TOWNSEND RECKONS
Onana is a box-to-box player, though he can play 6 and 10. They seem to be making a comeback, and we're told he has in his locker the cute passes the best midfielders need. I've not seen that in him yet, but again, enough smart judges are certain about him so that I'm obviously wrong.

BELGIUM PROBE
De Bruyne sliding into the box. But as Trossard latches on to it, Pekarik slides in and not only wins the challenge but in diverting the ball against his opponent, the goalkick too.

THIS IS ALSOP NOW A PARTICULAR TEST
For Doku. In the first few minutes, he looked like he could be the key player in this game and so far he has been. But not in the way he planned, and as someone who likes to try things, he must now be careful not to try too much looking for redemption.
13'
BELGIUM WIN A FREE-KICK
And De Bruyne teases a ball towards the far post, but there's no one there to stick a head on it.

THIS IS A TEST FOR BELGIUM
Their status comes almost entirely as a consequence of their rabbit hunting. the footballing Elmer Fudd. But Slovakia look organised and aggressive, like Romania did earlier, and now they've something to hold on to.

GOAL!! Belgium 0-1 Slovakia (Schranz) Now then! Almost very game has had an early goal and here's another - but who predicted this one?! Slovakia win the ball deep inside the Belgium half when someone, Doku I think, gives it away. Bozenik then backheels to Kucka, and though his shot is saved by Casteels, he can't shovel away form danger, and from an acute angle, Schranz volleys home! He might've been offside at the point of the initial shot ... but VAR says not!

AND HERE COMES DOKU AGAIN
He slides Lukaku in,who reaches the ball before Dubravka, but his touch takes him wide , then Trossard retrieves out wide and doesn't tee him up, the keeper eventually claiming the cross. Lukaku then donates a large pieces of his mind to his errant teammate.

THAT DOKU RUN
Feels like a portent. If Belgium get him on the ball, it doesn't feel like Slovakia can cope.

DOKU, PLAYING ON THE RIGHT, IS IMMEDIATELY INTO THE ACTION
He rides a tackle from Hancko, screeches into the box, and squares for De Bruyne, who slides in trying to score, only to send the ball square to Lukaku who, on the half-turn clobbers his finish into Dubravka's chest. That was a good save, but also a good chance, and that's the thing with Lukaku: he lacks the class to find deft finishes so every effort is a high-percentage, low-tariff punch.
2'
BELGIUM LOOK YOUNGER THAN USUAL
But that's not especially by design. Jan Vertonghan, Thomas Meunier and Axel Witsel are all injured, but all should be ready at some point during this competition.

AWAY WE GO!
17:00
ALREADY A GOOD QUESTION
Tyldesley asks Townsend who he rates who we might not, given he's played with or against them and we haven't. Immediately, he says Amadou Onana, who he thinks can be one of the best players in the world. I'm really looking forward to seeing him as I know lots of great judges love him - but I've never really seen him play that well.
