Good evening and welcome to LIVE coverage of Fenerbahce vs. Arsenal as two sides enduring testing times meet at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium to contest the first leg of their Champions League play-off. A 7:45pm kick-off for this clash.

This doesn't look good for Arsenal. Wilshere is down clutching his ankle.

Good link up between Jack Wilshere and Kieran Gibbs forces a corner down the left. After missing his first header, Pierre Webo clears the set-piece.

Iretgun finds himself unmarked on the left but completely fluffs his pass as the ball cannons off his standing leg.

Now it's Arsenal turn to knock it about at the back. Very little interest in driving forward though as Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny boost their passing statistics.

Kuyt bursts down the left and whips a dangerous ball into the box. Headed clear. The crowd respond. Fenerbahce have finally settled.

Fenerbahce enjoy a spell on the ball but their opponents force them all the way back to Volkan.

Great atmosphere at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium. Cheers, jeers and one man with a very loud drum.

Tomas Rosicky gets himself involved but concedes a foul. Arsenal aren't allowing the hosts to settle.

Walcott drifts in from the right with lots of close touches before eventually being crowded out. He looks like he has the beating of the Fenerbahce defence today who have taken a risk by lining up with a back three.

Aaron Ramsey hits the deck. Looks like a clear foul but the referee isn't interested.

And Walcott is in again down the right after being found by Giroud. Corner. Bright start this from Arsenal.

Santi Cazorla skips past Dirk Kuyt and finds Theo Walcott who shoots straight at an opponent.

Slightly risky from Olivier Giroud. The forward is unhappy with Bekir Irtegun and squares up to the defender.

Arsenal playing in their established red shirts but they're complimented by some rather unfamiliar blue shorts. Jeers ring out as the Gunners hold onto the ball.

We're about to find out whether Arsenal can continue their incredible record of making the Champions League group stages. The Premier League side get us underway.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger: "What is important in football is to go out [on Wednesday night] and see a good game. All that other stuff is good for the newspapers, but it is not real football. What is real football is the quality of the game and for me that is always the most important thing."

Fenerbahce coach Ersun Yanal: "Arsenal are a high power team, so we will want to go there with an advantage. As a team we are strong enough to finish the challenge which is in front of us."

Fenerbahce also tasted defeat in their first Turkish Super Lig match, a 3-2 defeat away at Konyaspor. All they have to do now is hope the judges in Lausanne, Switzerland find them innocent and knock out Arsenal over two legs. Simple… The verdict from CAS will be announced on August 28 – the day after the second leg.

Wenger will be desperate for his current crop of players to prove they are up to the challenge after their shock 3-1 opening day defeat to Aston Villa. His squad is alarmingly sparse due to a spree of outgoing transfers and injuries, and unless the Frenchman makes a signing in the next 20 minutes the Gunners will take to the field having failed to spend a single penny.

Any Arsenal fans hoping for sweeping changes following their defeat at the weekend will be disappointed as Arsene Wenger makes just one change, Santi Cazorla coming in for the injured Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Bacary Sagna has recovered from his horrific fall against Aston Villa to get the nod in defence.

Gonul Gokhan returns from surgery to take his place on the Fenerbahce bench but the game comes too soon for Erten Ersu who is out with a knee injury.
