Good evening, and welcome to Eurosport's coverage of the Champions League Group F match between Marseille of France, and Russia's Spartak Moscow. It has been a warm day in the south of France, and the crowd are making their way into the Stade Velodrome.

The referee blows for full time, it's 1-0 to the Russians. Marseille can hardly believe it, Spartak are ecstatic. Not a result they deserved, but very welcome nonetheless.

Finally a goal - but incredibly for Spartak! Kombarov breaks down the left, but his cross-shot is deflected in by defender Cesar Azpilicueta. Amazing, and totally against the run of play.

Injury to Alex for Spartak. He is carried off on a stretcher, at least temporarily.

How did he miss that? Best chance of the match. Valbuena puts over a superb cross, and all Lucho Gonzalez has to do is head the ball forward from a yard out. It slides off his head, and wide. Huge let-off for Spartak, at least the second half has been better.

Valbuena looks the man with the quality to break the deadlock here, and is coming more into it. He brings another save from Dykan with a clever turn and shot.

Lucho Gonzalez slides over in the Spartak area under challenge, but this time hardly bothers to look at referee Meyer.

Next up is Chelsea at Stamford Bridge for Marseille. They need this victory, and they are at least striving to get it now

Taiwo gets in a fine cross from the left, and Lucho Gonzalez's header is saved by Dykan. The goalkeeper has done well tonight without having to truly excel.

The pressure is steadily mounting, and Spartak are hanging on a bit here at the moment

Great strike from Marseille's Nigerian left-back Taiwo as they come closer, pushed around the post by Dykan.

Marseille have found some urgency, perhaps finally realising that a goalless draw here is of much more use to Spartak. Gignac has a shot blocked with virtually his first touch after good work by Lucho Gonzalez.

It is Brandao's last action, as Gignac, the £15million man, comes on for him to huge cheers from the home crowd.
