Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese reignited their college rivalry in a highly-charged WNBA clash between the Indiana Fever and the Chicago Sky. Reese was hit with a flagrant 1 foul after delivering a blow to the head of Clark in the third quarter. Reese then had a not-so-subtle dig at the officiating after the match, which saw Clark demonstrate her star-quality credentials.

Clark stars with 23 points as Fever beat Sky in WNBA

Caitlin Clark came out on top in her battle with college rival Angel Reese, as the Indiana Fever triumphed with a pulsating 88-83 win over the Chicago Sky.
The victory for Clark will feel all the more sweeter after an altercation involving Reese.
Reese delivered a swift right elbow to Clark as she surged towards the basket in the third quarter, in a decision that was subsequently upgraded to a flagrant 1 foul after a video review.
It did nothing to steer Clark off her path though, in what was the finest day of her fledgling WNBA career to date.
She scored 23 points, nine assists and eight rebounds, while also making seven of 11 shots and three three-pointers to mark the first consecutive wins in her WNBA career.
Clark was keen to place more emphasis on the team as a whole, rather than on her own individual performance.
"I think we're moving the ball and I think once we gave it up, people were getting it back in the half court," Clark said in quotes published by AP.
"I thought we were really good out of the ball-screen action, I thought we made some really good reads."
She was also largely undeterred following the flashpoint with Reese, adding: "It's just part of basketball. It is what it is. Trying to make a play on the ball, get the block. I mean, it happens."
Marina Mabrey top scored for the Sky with 22 points, while Reese and Kamilla Cardoso added 11 points and 10 points respectively.
Reese reflected on the flashpoint with Clark in more detail and said: "I can't control the refs. They affected the game a lot tonight. I'm always going for the ball. But y'all going to play that clip 20 times before Monday.
"I think we [herself and center Cardoso] went up really strong a lot of times and we didn't get a lot of calls.
"And going back and looking at the film, I've seen a lot of calls that weren't made. I guess some people got a special whistle."
Clark and Reese will continue their rivalry on Sunday when the two teams collide in Chicago for what will be their third meeting this season.
Elsewhere, Allisha Gray starred with 25 points in an 87-74 win for the Atlanta Dream over the Los Angeles Sparks and Kahleah Copper scored 30 points for the Phoenix Mercury in an 87-78 victory over the Seattle Storm.
