Angel Reese became the first rookie since A'ja Wilson with 25+ points and 15+ rebounds in a single game, as she posted a double-double for the eighth game in a row. Reese's showdown with Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever did not disappoint. New York Liberty are the new WNBA league leaders, meanwhile, after their win over Atlanta Dream.

Reese goes off for 25 points in Sky's comeback win over Fever

Angel Reese netted 25 points and grabbed 16 rebounds as Chicago Sky overturned a 15-point deficit to beat Indiana Fever 88-87 in a thriller in Illinois.
That was despite a franchise-record 13 assists from Fever’s Caitlin Clark - who also added 17 points for her team.
Clark played every minute of the match, but was outshone by her college basketball rival. It marked the first time Reese has beaten Clark since the 2023 NCAA championship game.
Sky’s first victory of the season against Fever, at the third time of asking, brought their opponents’ four-game winning streak to an end.
Chicago were down 82-70 with 6:38 remaining, before Reese had 10 points and five rebounds to spark their comeback.
The scores were level with 2:30 to play, at which point Reese gave the Sky a two-point lead.
Kennedy Carter and Camilla Cardoso each hit one of two from the foul line to make the score 88-84 with 27 seconds left on the clock.
Fever’s Aliyah Boston made it a one-point game with a three, but her team went on to miss two shots in the closing seconds and Chicago took the win.
Reese posted a double-double for the eighth consecutive match to extend her own WNBA rookie record.
Asked how she keeps performing to the highest level, Reese said: “I’m a dog. You can’t teach that.
“I’m going to go out and do whatever it takes to win and every single night, my teammates rely on my energy.
“So, being able to see the energy, even if we’re down, even if we’re up, that’s what I do.”
Elsewhere, New York Liberty went to the top of the league standings with a 96-75 victory over Atlanta Dream. Sabrina Ionescu scored 26 points as she recorded back-to-back 20+ point games.
Second-placed Connecticut Sun lost for the second game in a row - falling 72-61 to Seattle Storm.
Stefanie Dolson starred for Washington Mystics as she hit four three-pointers on her way to 18 points as her team saw off Dallas Wings 92-84, and Minnesota Lynx beat Phoenix Mercury 73-60.
